There Was An Old Woman Records formed out of a quiet need of taking risks in new ways. Music started taking hold of me in 2006. I thought i wanted to be a director of photography , the most majestic job on a film set. I started experimenting with a digital camcorder while I was working on sets. I would shoot all sorts of them and upload them in iMovie and very quickly I realized how I need sound to lift there images and edit them properly. I still remember the first moment I opened up garage band to see if I could create something for a video I was working on. I put headphones on… and didn’t take them off for the next ten hours. Got so wildly lost that day and never really returned. Video projects fell to the wayside and music became the only space I wanted to play in. I formed a project called Jena Malone and her bloodstains. Made two albums back to back within a year. Started sending the music out .
